Custom sapphire wafer carriers that can be manufactured to specification with perforations and other characteristics for thinning semiconductor materials are available from Meller Optics, Inc.?Meller sapphire wafer carriers feature ±1.2 µm thickness and piece-to-piece uniformity and can be custom manufactured with or without perforations, flats, and laser markings. Developed for thinning semiconductor materials, these durable wafer carriers have a surface orientation, 10 arc-sec flatness and parallelism, and can be supplied polished or unpolished.
