Acxiom to buy DMS for undisclosed amount

Marketing consultant Acxiom Corp. said Wednesday it has agreed to buy DMS, a move aimed at expanding into the Middle East and North Africa.

Acxiom did not say how much it will pay for DMS, which is based in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and provides direct marketing services.

DMS managing director Yousef Hamidaddin will head the business as CEO of a new unit called Acxiom MENA, the company said.

Acxiom shares rose 7 cents to $9.47 in afternoon trading.
